More than 18000 patients have been treated for high cholesterol with pravastatin or simvastatin were split into two groups, One took 1800mg of eicosapentaenoic acid an omega 3 fatty acid found in fish oil, while the other group took only a statin. The patients taking EPA demonstrated a 19 percent reduction in major coronary events and non fatal events. The fish oil is actually very good for health and contains many essential nutrients that are necessary to fight against infections. There are also lot of fish oil tablets that can be taken daily to remain healthy.
