Mother nature was around long before the cosmetics counter, so its no wonder beauty buffs look to backyard botanicals for homegrown treatments. The possible combinations are as plentiful as your harvest. Here are some sure bets.
Deep clean: In a large bowl, mash half cup thoroughly washed strawberries with same amount of curd. Strawberries contain salicylic acid which leaves the skin smooth and tight and the milder acids in milk products have a softening effect. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for several minutes before rinsing well. If you are allergic to strawberries, use mango or papaya instead.
Moisturise: Toss a handful of sunflower petals into a hot bath, and follow with a body treatment made from the juice of several lemons and a tablespoon or two of baby oil. Rub the mixture on your skin concentrating on elbows and knees.
