How fit are you

Heart rate monitors can be very useful if you measure your recovery. The more fit you are, the faster your pulse returns to normal.

Are you moderately fit? Once you cut back to a slow cooldown or stop moving, expect your heart rate to drop atleast 13 to 15 beats per minute until it returns to baseline.

If it comes down very slowly less than 12 beats per minute, you need to consult your doctor. A slow drop could be an early warning of heart disease or simply a sign that your level of fitness needs work and you need to exercise this vital muscle.
