The sweetness doesn’t sit well
If you are suffering from diarrhea after consuming sugar free items, check for sorbitol in the ingredient lists. This sweetener will be used in diet candy, gum or icecream has about half the calories of sugar and is absorbed more slowly by the body which is a plus for people with diabetes. But in large doses, it can cause gas, bloating, cramps and diarrhea. Sometimes all it takes is a handful of candies, for instance, to get a relatively large dose of sorbitol. Xylitol, a related sweetener can have similar adverse effects. So it is always better to restrict yourself in having lot of candies. Candy that is not dandy. Heard of the statement ? Sounds interesting. Right?
