A Premature End
People with pre-diabetes are nearly as likely to die early from cardiovascular disease as those with Type2 diabetes, according to a study. Sometimes called insulin resistance or impaired glucose tolerance, pre diabetes is identified by elevated blood sugar that remains below the levels seen in full fledged diabetes. Also people with diabetes or pre diabetes were more than twice as likely to die from cardiovascular disease as those with normal blood sugar levels, after controlling for other risk factors such as blood pressure, cholestrol etc. Mostly people should check for diabetes if their age is 30. And the important thing is that,if you have pre diabetes, you need to reduce your weight and continue doing exercise regularly.

Beware of Heartburn drugs
Whenever you tend to get some facts, you would like to explore it. Here is one like that. When you use heartburn drugs over a long period of time, your bones may get weaker. Its been noted that people over 50 who took proton pump inhibitors for more than a year had a 44% increased risk of hip fractures. There was also a smaller risk of fractures with H2 blockers. All these drugs work by reducing the stomach acid. At the same time they can reduce the absorption of bone building calcium in the body. A direct effect on bones may also be there due to the consumption of drugs. So whenever you are prescribed heartburn drugs by the doctor, try using the lowest effective dose and taper them off when you can.

Watch Out Passive Smokers
You know that smokers are polluting the environment to a huge extent. Also passive smokers who stand near by the smokers also get affected very badly. A new research from the New Stanford University suggests that secondhand smoker that increases heart disease, lung cancer can be just as concentrated in outdoor gathering spots like patios or playgrounds as it is indoors. If you linger near a smoker outdoors, you may be exposed to 100 times the toxic pollutants in the air on a typical smoggy day. So you need to stay 12feet behind the smokers and if you are passing through a smoke zone, hold your breath and cover your nose and mouth. So prevent yourself from passive smoking.
Attention Smokers
Smokers have it rough. Not only do they face an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer, respiratory problems, and other deadly diseases, they also have to put up with some lesser known health hazards. They are
Root canal infections: Smokers are 70% more likely to need treatment for root canal infections than non smokers according to a study.
Tooth loss: Previous research found that they are also twice as likely to loose their teeth, since smoking contributes to periodontal disease. Pack-a-day smokers can expect to lose an extra two teeth per decade.
Impotence: Male smokers have an increased risk of impotence. This occurs even in relatively young men, according to a recent Australian study.
Wrinkles: Long term smokers have thinner, less elastic skin than nonsmokers,so they are more likely to develop serious premature wrinkling and other signs of aging.
Gray hair: They are also upto four times more likely to get grey hair prematurely.
So keep this in mind and avoid smoking.

Treadmill Alternative
You know that you can find the distance you walked in the treadmill using the display provided in the treadmill. But recently, a new alternative has been found. Doctors usually rely on the treadmill to gauge the severity of claudication which is the leg pain caused due to exercise or activity. The more pleasant approach seems to be a walk in park with the global positioning system attached to the belt or in a backpack. The data that is recorded by the GPS shows how far an individual walks without stopping which is a keypiece of information from treadmill tests. It sounds really good and it can be more convenient for the people as it is light in weight. So no doubt, these kind of new gadgets keep hitting the market.
Watch Your Mouth
Some interesting fact is there for you here. You know women's wounds usually heal faster than men's,but not when it is a canker sore or a root canal. You must be wondering why is it so. It is due to testosterone. The anti inflammatory hormone works for and against women. As they have very less content of it,their skin cuts get more inflamed and that helps them close up more quickly. But inflammation in your mouth slows healing. So without that extra shot of testosterone,a canker sore takes longer time to heal.A research tells that ibuprofen,a medication can speed healing and reduce pain. So women have to be more careful when it comes to an injury as theer healing time is very long.
