Group Therapy

Walking is always good for health. Doctors prescribe walking as a medication for most of the people. But when you try to wake up early in the morning and go for a walk, you may find it difficult. You can try to go for a walk with a group of people. Do you want to incinerate 400cals in 60min flat? Gather a group of friends together and find a walking route that everyone knows. Walk for 10mins together at a brisk pace that everyone can maintain. From 10 to 30mins,have everyone walk at his or her fastest pace. The fastest walkers will speed ahead, but after 20mins,have each person tum around and sprint back to the starting point. Finish with a 10min cool down and stretch together.Try it out!!

Moving News

This news can be shocking for the women. Sweat plugs the leaks. What is it? It seems women who exercise on a regular basis are less likely to develop urinary incontinence. Tracking the exercise habit of over 30000 women, it was found that in those who habitually exercised the equivalent of about one hour a day, the risk of developing urinary incontinence was 20% to 25% lower than among the least active women. They theorize that the results are due to the fact that exercise may help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, which help support proper bladder function.Although maintaining a healthy weight helps reduce the risk of urinary incontinence,it was found that what mattered most was the amount of exercise not your weight. So beware of it.

What's There in Sleep?

Most of us love sleeping. Its a regular routine that we do daily and it can really be awful when you dont have a sound sleep. People who are hard up for sleep are more likely to make risky decisions. It may be placing a high stakes bet at a blackjack table, for instance or speeding through a yellow light. It is because they unrealistically expect a good outcome. That is been the suggestion from most of the medical experts. You know it seems the part of the brain that is wired to help you learn from mistakes is less active when you are sleep deprived. Even a two hour deficit may sap brainpower. Most people deprive themselves of sleep to gain something. But in the long run,you end up losing. Thats how it goes.

Is It Safe?

You probably have at least one medication languishing in your medicine cabinet with a Use by nov 2007 or even an earlier date on the box. If that expired medicine happens to be your only bottle of pain reliever when you have a terrible head ache, should you take it? By law, drug manufacturers have to include an expiration date with the medicine that guarantees the full strength and safety of the medicine. Several years ago, when the US military commissioned a study of about 100 prescription and over the counter drugs, researchers found that the majority of the drugs were safe to use a full 15 years after the expiration date. Does this mean that you should hang on to your medicines for decades? Probably not.Its safest to toss your old medicines and buy new ones so that you can be sure you are getting the most effective dose. So make sure you dont take medicines after the expiry date.
